Campaign update the Grove Market will be going to planning committee on 29th May 2008
This will take place at 6.30 at he Town Hall Wellington Street SE18 (the public are allowed )

We are a group of residents who have come together to try to convince Greenwich council planning committee that allowing these developments will detract from the character of Eltham Town centre. Over the years Greenwich have built many high rise blocks most of which are now being demolished in favour of low rise family accommodation. So we cannot understand why these new high rise blocks can now be deemed acceptable. Especially with one of the proposed blocks impacting directly on Eltham palace conservation area. The Royal Palace is mentioned in the Doomsday book and a house on this site actually predates the Norman invasion with the Palace being a home for the Royal family for over 300 years. If you feel like us that town planning should be used to improve an area and not ruin it then join us in our campaign and ask Greenwich council to not allow high rise blocks on any of these sites. Below are a couple of views of Eltham palace which has been the centre of Eltham for over a thousand years .
